Sorry I haven't been around for a while.  I got an iPad, not long after my last blog entry, and I have been learning about it.  I have been reorganising room here so that I can sew things.  I decided that I really missed sewing.  It has always had a relaxing and distracting effect on me and will be helpful in my ongoing process.  I spend way too much time on Facebook, and now I am hoping to cut that down.

Not much has been going on here; the boys are presently on holidays and expand to take up all the time and space so that not much gets done by me or anybody else.  As usual I have ideas and plans for my blogs, but whether those come to fruition or not remains to be seen.  I have to finally admit that much of my malaise, is probably akin to boredom and just sheer laziness....

Seems like, as well, I will have to do some serious editing around here as well.  What looked okay before is horrible now and in dire need of fixing....

A wedding...

My niece was married last weekend.  My daughter and her friend went to the wedding, and I stayed home to care for the boys.  The only children attending were my nieces two sons and her husband's children.  I have met her husband twice but I don't know him.

The wedding was at Bermagui, a small seaside resort on the very far south coast of New South Wales.  My daughter went in her new car.  She drove down to Mount Warrigal where her girlfriend lives and the following day they drove down.  It took about four hours to drive there.  They stayed at a caravan park for the night as the wedding was to be the next day.

My sister was the "official" photographer, but my daughter took many photos and a short video of the ceremony.  My niece was a lovely bride in a pretty dress.

She has always been pretty and had dark hair which she lightened for the wedding.  Her husband wore a suit but with shorts and thongs.  He has a beard about a foot long.

My sister took this photo of them on the beach.  They are going camping for their honeymoon.  I have photos to download from the camera and will make some albums.

Her two sons have come back with us for the school holidays, so it is full house....

Tweeting the apocalypse

Happy New year; although I doubt anyone reads this blog any more.  I shall rectify that shortly and I will redo the appearance, connect to my Facebook page, and it will come up in twitter....

Every New Year someone wants to know what your resolutions are: basically I should say to stay away from people wanting me to make resolutions, but I silly enough said: I will blog more and I will tweet the apocalypse, since there are groups of people out there who believe 2012 will herald in the end of the world.  I also promised my Melbourne based relatives I would visit them after the end of the world.

My computer is dead.  Well actually the graphics card is dead so effectively it is as well and it will be a while before I have another to call my own.  Presently I am using my grandson's computer which we bought about three years ago for a very cheap price.  I don't want to over do it for the poor CPU.

We also changed our ISP.  We are now with Telstra.  This was based on the theory that at least we would have access to a good solid infrastructure for the broadband and telephone being as we live out in the boonies. Luckily it was NOT based on the fact they have about the most apalling Customer Service on the entire planet, even if you consider theives as customer service providers....

The daughter is currently doing a Christmas job with shockingly few hours - gotta "love" managers and their attitude toward women with children.  Still if that company also folds, they will only get what they deserve...
She has good plans for retraining, getting another useful qualification and taking her skills and bubbly personality elsewhere.  There are other industries who will employ her...

So let us forward into the New Year and see if I can live up to my promise of more blogging...
